"Have you ever seen brown eyes in the sun? You don’t always notice it at first but you’ll see that ‘brown’ no longer describes them. They melt into golden rays, circling an eclipse. There’s nothing boring about brown eyes, not even when the later hours encroach; they just turn into a sunset of their own."

For days I do not feel beautiful:
Thursday, December 25, 2014
As the year comes to an end, I've been looking back and I realized that 2014 has been a pretty decent one for me. The beginning of the year was rough, and I think I hit a really low emotional slump at one point - that point was truly rock-bottom for me. But looking back, 2014 on the whole has been, well, great. I met my boyfriend, who has the ability to fashion hope right out of thin air (pardon me for quoting Sarah Brightman lyrics) and brighten my life up unimaginably. I managed to enrol in law school, where I've met and made great new friends. More importantly, the friendships most important to me got even stronger this year. I'd been afraid that I'd drift from some of these people, but thankfully, despite all our busy lives and differing timetables, I feel the relationships haven't faded one bit. Especially thankful for those who take the initiative to propose meeting up.
Things I've learnt from 2014:
Merry Christmas and a happy new year, everybody :^) Looking forward to 2015.
Things I've learnt from 2014:
- Those who care enough about you will make the time to meet you; they will find a way to clear their schedule, they will suggest all the days that they are free, they will put in effort to spend time with you. These are the people to cherish.
- Always be positive. Things always get better, it's just a matter of time.
- Appreciate the beautiful things in life. Don't get hung up on the past, or on little problems that don't matter anymore.
New year's resolutions:
- Develop time management skills. The goal is to busy myself on weekdays and complete all work tasks or assignments immediately such that the weekends are totally free.
- Make more time for family.
- Keep loved ones as close as possible.
- Stop biting/peeling nails. Please.
- Start eating healthy. Not just so I can cut all that tummy fat and jiggly thighs, but also for the sake of my increasingly clogged arteries. (I haven't had a check-up or anything, of course, but if I keep up with the amount of junk food and fast food I'm currently consuming on a daily basis, the clogged arteries will become a reality.)
- Care less about what people think of me.
- Strengthen myself emotionally. It definitely wouldn't do to start bawling in Moot Court next semester when I get criticized by a professor.
- Start saving money and stop, please stop, spending savings on clothes and cabs.
Merry Christmas and a happy new year, everybody :^) Looking forward to 2015.
